Robert Smith

I have no douts that you know who is Robert Smith, maybe you just can't remember the person with this name, but he is the singer of a really huge and famous british band of the begining of the 8o's called The Cure, that I'm sure that you know; If don't, ask to your parents that they will know, or search on google.

He join in other bands and already had a solo career but was with The Cure that he turned famous. Besides the band didn't over, they still playing.

His style most of time is rotuleted like "gotic", with make up in his eyes and mouth and a messy hair, which remember a little bit Tim Burton the director of Alice - a little coincidence- . Anyway.

In the soundtrack of Alice in Wonderland Robert Smith play alone a dramatic and mysterious music called Very Good Advice, That personally I liked very much.

If you want to listening to see if you liked too, here is the music:

Plain White T's

Plain White T's is an American and successful band, with five albuns alredy released.
With the song Hey There Deliah, they received a Grammy nomination in 2008. In the same year, they had two new singles: 1,2,3,4 and Natural Disaster.
A funny thing about them is that they played with Motion City Soundtrack in 2006, another band that is on Alice in Wonderland soundtrack. But that was not the only band Plain White T's played with. Still in 2008, they played with The Cab, Dashboard Confessional and with my favorite one: Panic! at the Disco.
Their music for Alice in Wonderland is Welcome to Mistery, check it out.

Tokio Hotel

This is my favorite band in whole world.

Bill and Tom Kaulitz are identical twins and when Tom starts playing guitar, with help of their step father, they decided to form a band with their own lyrics; and present in clubs. In 2001 they met Gustav, the drummer and Georg, the bassist, in Magdeburg, was formed Devilish- the first name of the band.

In 2003 Peter Hoffmann discovered these four boys and in 2005 the Universal Music make a contract with the band that already had change the name for Tokio Hotel. In the same year they debut their first single “Durch den Monsun” - that latter had a new version in English, called Monsoon - and recorded the first album Schrei! The band starts to make success.

In 2007 came the second album “Zimmer 483” with the single “Übers ende der Welt”, they were turning to be popular in whole world, so they decided to select their best music’s – all of then in german – and translate to English, so more fans could understand them. Was debut Scream and the singles – Monsoon, Ready, Set, Go! , Don’t Jump and others. They won their first EMA in 2007 and made a huge performance of Monsoon.

Last year they recorded their fourth album called Humanoid, this was the first album debuted in the two languages in the same time, and until now they have two singles the first Automatic/ Automatisch and the second World Behind My Wall/ Lass uns Laufen. In 2009 they won their third EMA for Best Band.

Tokio Hotel now is a world famous rock band. They are in the soundtrack of Alice in Wonderland with the music Strange, with a participation of Kerli.

Kerli

Kerli isn't a band, acctually she is a singer born in Estonian, who plays an alternative pop/rock. She always participated of festivals when she was a teenenger, and when she won one of those festivals the Universal Music of Sweden contract her.

After that she went to US and was discovered by a famous producer L.A Reid (the same producer who found Avril Lavigne), and was with he that Kerli had the opportunity to record her first album called Love Is Dead, which had two singles Love is Dead and Walking On Air. Her talent cross borders and she turn to be a famous European Artist. Her second album is suppose to debut this year.

Kerli, is one of the artists that are in the soudtrack of Alice In Wonderland, an really good opottunity to her be know in all the world. She sing a music called Tea Party,a pop/rock mixed with a little bit of rap, that clearly is about the tea party (a scene of the film), she already filmed the videoclip that in fact is really cute!.

But isn't just with this music that Kerli will participate of the film, cause another band: Tokio Hotel, which is in the soundtrack too with the music Strange inveted her to sing a duet with the singer: Bill Kaulitz, and the result of this duet is wonderfull!

All Time Low

In 2003 Alex Gaskarth, Jack Barakat, Zack Merrick and Rian Dawson joined to form All Time Low, a band from Baltimore that plays pop/punk.

With 3 albums released until now, All Time Low became successful band in Brazil when they recorded a song for the movie Jennifer's Body (Garota Infernal, in Brazil).

It all starts when in 2004, when the band signed a contract with Esmerald Moon Records and recorded an EP. One year after, came the first album: The Party Scene.

They still recorded another EP in 2006 with Hopeless Records, and another CD, the most important one in their career, So Wrong, It’s Right.

The last album, Nothing Personal, was released last year.

This band has played with bands I already talked about, like The Academy Is…, There For Tomorrow and Cute Is What We Aim For and with other great bands, like We The Kings, Boys Like Girls, Gym Class Heroes, Plain White T’s, Cobra Starship and Forever the Sickest Kids.

Avril Lavigne

It's almost obvious that you know Avril Lavigne, a girl from Napanee, Ontario, Canada that, with 16 years old saw her dream come true, she record her first album "Let Go" move to United States and turned to be really famous. With her first band she made a huge tour called "Try to Shut Me Up" which turned a DVD called "My World". With a lot of sigles like "Complicated" and "Sk8er Boy", this CD debut her to the world.

Her second album "Under My Skin", that have other members in the band, maybe is the most important for the brazilian fans , this album made she come with her tour to Brazil in 2004, and have the most popular single of her carrer "Don't tell Me".

After this album she stay a long time out of the spotlights. But in 2007 she relased her thrid album "The Best Damn Thing" with the single "Girlfrind" that didn't stop to play on the radios, and the video clip in the TV, Avril come back to "the most popular superstars" even more powerfull with her new project: design clothes and her own store "Abbey Dawn" that totally have her style. Now she was grown up, and got married, with the siger of Sum 41, Deryck Whybley. But in 2009 they broke up.

Now after another long time out off spotlights, Avril come back in the soudtrack os Alice In Wonderland, her music called "Alice" is the first single of the soudtrack and have already a videoclip.

3OH!3

The first band in the soundtrack of Alice in Wonderland I’m going to talk about is 3OH!3.

3OH!3 is a group of two boys, acting together since 2004. Their sound is a mix of electronic, electro hop and dance. The members, Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte, met each other while were attending the University of Colorado.

Their first and independent album didn’t make success at all. But their second album, Want, released in June of 2008, made a huge success with the amazing single Don’t Trust Me.

In 2009, the opened Katy Perry’s concerts in Europe, and recorded with her another big single, Starstrukk.

With Ke$ha, the new female name in the music world, they already recorded the song Blah Blah Blah.

For the soundtrack of Alice in Wonderland, their song name’s Follow Me Down, featuring the English singer, Neon Hitch.

Alice's week

As you may know this year Tim Burton made another successful film, Alice in Wonderland!

Which already debut in US.

This week we will post about all the artists that have their music in the soundtrack, some of then very famous other ones not that much, but all of them very talented! A way to stay more curious about the film that debut in Brasil in april 21th.

Cinema Bizarre

Another band that had a strange, quiet and suprised end.

Cinema Bizarre were form 2005 by five boys from Germany that played glam rock in english, they had fans around the world inclued in Brazil, but were never known by the midia.

It's difficult when some band isn't a accept in the midia because of their music and most important because of their look , kind androgen.

But this wasn't the fact that make the band ends, cause acctually they were all welcome in Europe, even with the critics.

The problems began in 2007, when Luminor, who played keybord, left the band saying that he was with health problems, and Romeo a friend of the band enter to replace him, in 2008 Luminor officially left the band. Some people says that had a conflict among the members, but he states that his health problems were worst then he thought.

In 2010 the band posted a letter in their twitter and facebook saying that the band would stop for a while, but it acctualy seems that this was the end of the band forever.

With the end of Cinema Bizarre Romeo and Yu enterd in another band and Strify and Shin wants to stay in the music world too. We don't have notices about Kiro and not even Luminor.

Even with the end of the band, if you want to check out their video clips here it is some musics: Love Songs (They Kill Me) and Forever or Never.

After a small tour, they signed with Fueled by Ramen, an indie record company, even without a manager and a bassist.

On 2006, recorded the first album, The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch.

After this album, they found a bassist, but he left the band months after. Then, comes another one, who left the band to, in March of 2008.

Anyway, they finished another album in the same month, Rotation, released on June.

They were part of the Simple Plan opening show with Metro Station and other bands to.

In September of the same year, the drummer left the band.

In 2009, they made part of the soundtrack of the movie Jennifer’s Body.

In the same year, the singer announced his solo career and two other members left the band.

But the band is not over. In 2010, they were making tours with other bands.

Apollo 3

This is a really new band, in all aspects!

It all starts in Cologne, a really important city in Germany, where three boys met each other and decided to form a band, but the fact is that they weren't teenengers by the age of fifteen , 'cause acctualy, now the older have only thirteen years old, so cute!

Then, let me introduce you these boys: Marvin (25/08/1996), Henry (25/06/1997) and Dario (05/01/1997) this is Apollo 3!

They turned to be famous in Germany when their music "Superhelden" was part of the soundtrack of the film "Vorstadtkrokodile". Besides "Superhelden" they had already another single "Startschuss", and two albuns.

In 2010 they debut their first film "Teufelskicker" where they plays the main characters.

Because of the age that they start making music, music style and country, sometimes they are compared with Devilish (now, Tokio Hotel) that had similar begin and now it's a famous rock band, with fans all over the world, the dream of every band, and a good example for Apollo 3 boys to see that doesn't matter where you came from, you can always get your dream if you want and belive it.

Metro Station

I’m really not a big fan of this band, but I honestly believe that when a good story has an end, someone needs to share it. For maybe the last time.

I’m almost sure you know Miley Cyrus, the girl from Hannah Montana, and the TV serie cast. Well, the fact is that Mitchel Musso (an actor in the serie) has a brother, called Mason. Mason was in the Disney studios one day, with her brother. That’s when Trace Cyrus, Miley’s real brother, enter in the story.

Trace and Mason met in one day and in the same day decided to form a band. A powerpop, electronic and rock band, Metro Station. A good band, that with the other two components, Blake and Anthony, became popular very fast, signing with Red Ink.

With only one album recorded in 2007 and unforgettable singles like Shake It, Seventeen Forever and Kelsey, this band is a part of the story of many people: the fans.

Last year, they lost two components, Blake and Anthony. Just Trace and Mason continued with the project. But the things were not easy for these young boys.

Last week, I think, they posted in them website: Metro Station is over now.

Trace Cyrus, please, don’t stop making music. In my opinion you sound better than your sister.

The Horrors

As you - maybe - noticed I really like to talk about europen bands. So, here is one more: The Horrors an English band formed in 2005.

Their music is a mix of indie rock and garage rock.

Maybe in the first look you will be shocked with their style cause, Faris Badwan, Joshua Hayward, Tom Cowan, Rhys Webb and Joseph Spurgeon are anything but ordinary or commom and depending of your point of view not even good looking. But this acctualy isn't important cause their music, with great lyrics maybe will make you change your mind.

They recorded two EP's the first in 2006 and the last in 2008. Their first CD recorded in 2007, was call Strange House with five singles, and last year -2009- their launched the second album Primary Colours that already have three singles.
The musics "She Is The New Thing" and "Who Can Say" have videoclips and both are really cool.

Their myspace is

Enter and enjoy.

A Rocket to the Moon

This band has one of my favorite music in all world, Don’t Forget Me.

The singer is Nick Santino, the guitarist Justin Richards, the drummer is Andrew Cook and Eric Halvorsen play bass.

Another amazing band, The Maine, helped Nick in the very beginning of the band career. That’s when in the premiere of The Maine’s CD, Pete Wentz, from Fall Out Boys, told them that they will be working on his record company.

This all happened in 2008, and after they made a tour with some of the next bands I will talk about in this blog: Cute Is What We Aim For, Secondhand Serenade and Automatic Loveletter.

They recorded the first EP, Your Best Idea, then came Summer 07 EP, Greeting From… EP, and a CD on the end of 2009, On Your Side.

The most amazing thing is that they are a new band, and already had performed with big names, like The Maine and Family Force 5, and the most famous: 3OH!3. They still will perform, this year, with The Cab, another fantastic band.
